My Beautiful Marine

I am so excited to say that my daughter will be home from Afghanistan in less than 30 days! I used to think than Cherry Point NC was on the other side of the earth! I have since changed my thinking. No matter where she is, as long as it is in the US, we can get to her. In November she was home for leave for 15 days. Her husband and son flew into St. Louis so that we all could see and visit with her too! Those 15 days flew by so fast. She has been deployed since April 2009. On the way back from taking Mandee to the airport to fly back out to Afghanistan, Tristan started asking questions. Mommy airport? Yes baby we took mommy to the airport. Mommy pwane? Yes baby mommy got on a plane. Mommy mommystan? Yes baby mommy went back to Afghanistan. He called it..... mommystan.....he still calls it that. The other day his other grandma called to tell me of the conversation they had with Tristan in the car. Poppa, where we going. We're going to the store buddy. You want to go to the store? No! I go to the airport get on pwane, go to mommystan. Grandma turned and asked him how he was going to get on a plane. He very clearly told her, when it lands! Boy did grandma feel silly. Of course the plane would have to land. Tristan is so looking forward to mommy coming home to him. It has been a hugh sacrifice for her to have been away from her family for a year! It has been the longest year of my life.

Why I need a blog

I don't know much about setting up a blog. I just know that I need one. I love to look at other blogs that feature scrapbook ideas and layouts. I want to be able to comment and post on some of the scrapbook blogs and participate in the blog hops. You have to have your own blog to do that.
